Got a new PC, need to install Windows my self...

So i got my cd, put it into CD drive, computer boots up, then this happens

NVIDIA Boot Agent 244.0523
Copyright (C) 2001-2005 NVIDIA Corporation
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Inel Corporation
PXE-E61: Media test faliure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting NVIDIA Boot Agent

Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in Selected Boot device and press a key

It just keeps doing this, with the Windows XP disk inserted in the CD Rom drive, and without me pressting a key?
WTF? lol

Erm there should be a button on one of the DOS-Like screens that says Either "To select boot device" or "To enter setup" (something like that)

Post back with what button it is!

Just try repeatedly jabbing at the "Delete" or "F8" or "F1" keys AS SOON as you press the power button to swtich it on

Hmm now is the time when the "PAUSE/BREAK" Button comes in handy - it will freeze the screen so you have time to see it. What mobo is in it, any idea?

Try "F2"

alternatively, PXE is network-boot and it appears to be moaning about the lack of a network cable.

We finally managed to get him into the bios (it helps if you plug the keyboard in properly) and moved CD to top, still no luck, any ideas DF?

Faulty XP CD? if its a legal version, then thats obviously not the problem lol :P

Make sure your CD drive is set to "master", and not slave. This might help, not sure though =/
