dont quote me but i dont think the m2 will work with out a password to connect to sql.
Basically all you gotta do is reinstall SQL Server 2000 by setting the system to "local" and the authentication mode to "mixed" and set a "sa" password

looks like a too many connections to the DB error try rebooting your pc.
and you may need to do ODBC if its needed with these 2.3 files.

EDIT:- You havenot been to control panel and then the administrative tools and then data sources(ODBC) i just checked on google for the error .

hmm do i need to download ODBC ???

and yer i done that thing in Control Panel

EDIT = yer i got that ODBC but still got the problem >< im baffled

EDIT 2 = ok i went into setup and im not using SQL because it is seriously pissing me off so when i try and run M2server after it loads the mpas it says [28/11/2007 20:16:35] StartTimer exception: Cannot access field 'FLD_ANTIPUSH' as type Boolean

any 1 have an idea on how 2 fix it and can some 1 tell me if not using the sql is allowed in running a server ?

First problem is as i said before but reading ur post it leads me to the conclusion that its due to your second problem which is.

second problem is because your not using sql and ur using access to read a DB that has not been updated from the updates.doc in the files , Only the sql DB has the updates for all fields and tables in it..

so if ur !setup and dbsrc still say mssql=TRUE thats another problem

this link has a lot of the problems people have been suffering from .lots of errors and ressolutions

couldnt find one here or id have posted it

read the updates doc, from bottom to top and apply all the field and table updates mentioned,,

i wouldn't recommend using access, i think td put a user limit on the files if using access

these files do not use a mongen.txt they are SQL so wont it be easier to add ur own mate look at the 1.4 or ledu mongens or even have a look at the access db they may have a lot of information for adding to your SQL DB.

import/restore/attach your old 2000 db and then import from the db into your mir2 sql2005 db

think this is a bit more explained
make a new database in 2005 ny restoring a backup of your old 2000 DB to the new database
then just do an import of what you want from the new DB to the old DB the import etc are very similar in both 2000 and 2005 versions except 20005 is a tad more complex and does alot more stuff duting imports

i couldnt get it to except the db from 2000 is different so i basically made a new TBL_MONGEN added the fields then dragged and dropped from a txt file.

so far so good

if you goole that error you will see its to do with ip address

this is the first find from that error in google

seems strange as i imported the db from TD files straight into sql 2005 and its obviously a 2000 DB, you could try deleting the tbl_mongen from old DB and then import from the new DB if you can import it to 2005.
