https://github.com/Suprcode/mir2 - Compile this using Visual Studio
    Download the client - http://legendofmir.uk/mirfiles/Client.zip
    Download the server http://legendofmir.uk/mirfiles/Server.zip
Extract the client.zip and run client.exe and let it download all the files. After it's done downloading, replace client.exe with the one you compiled
Extract the server.zip and replace server.exe with the one you compiled

That is for Crystal files (coded in C#), which in my opinion are by far the best available(open source)

    Re: New Server File Guides

    Hi there,

Is there an actual up to date guide on how to set the server up with the above files? I used to make one before but i don't think that process is used now as it was like 10 years ago!

I just want to set a basic one up so me and my brother can run around as GMs for nostalgia !

Any help would be great! I've downloaded the files above just unsure on what "Compile this using Visual Studio!" means!

What you downloaded is the raw code which needs to be made into server and client 'exe' files which windows can run as programs. You need to install 'Visual Studio' which is a program that opens that raw code and can save it in that .exe form. There is a guide here: http://www.lomcn.org/forum/showthrea...hem-(VSE-2013)

I believe you can just run the downloaded client and server as they are (without compiling the 'exe' files), their version is 1.1.3.4 and likely you won't miss the newer code corrections made to the source.

Hi kirsty if you want a good starting point read here. http://wiki.mironline.co.uk/Getting_Started

You don't need to do the compiling source code if your just wanting to play as the above guide will get you going with a serve lots of maps/quests/npc all setup (thanks to user= daneo)

    Re: New Server File Guides

Just tested, it runs (without the need to compile uptodate exe), just needs in the server in Config/Server panel these changes:

-General tab to browse and select client.exe in Version Path
-Permissions tab to 'Allow start game' and change Max Resolution Allowed to 1366

Also in Autopatch panel at top right Settings to uncheck Full Screen (potential problem for some if full screen selected), select res 1366 and can input login details (still needs to make acct with them when lauching).

That's about it, only irregular thing is that each and every start the Autopatch downloads some 25MB (Data\CArmour\11.Lib)
Also the server is not configured in various ways, in particular the exp per level is flat 100 exp points each.
