I'm not fantastic on the technologies that Intel have used in CPU production. Is there any actual performance gain or reduction in tempratures when they changed from 0.13Micron to 90NM?

90nm is old news, 65 is already out.
BOTH companies are going smaller, and smaller, and smaller, when they can.
This allows less heat output, faster production, yada yada yada.

I know it's old urban I'm just interested in the differences. After doing a little reasearch, I found out that the transistors are much closer together in the core, so I would guess that it would allow for more data throughput.
