need help

hi everyone, Im new to all this "set up your own server" stuff so I thought I'd start with 1.4 Well got everything going..says gate opened 0, so ready to connect. Goto log in and I get !FatalError Server verification failed. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated
**Also get "invalid file name" from loginservr every 5mins, maybe thats the problem? no clue how to fix tho =p

Looked through all the IP settings, server names, DBE path, are all correct. Getting no errors anywher. Did forum search for problem, none resolved the issue for me. I know 1.4 is like way out of date but some1 surely must've had this problem b4?:agree:

Everything works, created account, click "ktest" on server select, get to char screen and
BAM! Fatal Error! Server verification failed.
