routers

right here goes... i bought a laptop with wireless connectivity built in... but i need a wireless router for my pc... punk: and on my laptop it says something about "802.11g/b" and i looked for routers with that and they all say it but also it says "ADSL" and im on NTL cable... will i be able to use the ADSL router with my connection?
( i know nothing about routers etc and networking :dunce: )
