Season Pass + Rewards

A Season will last for 2 months. During this season you can gather Season XP and gain Season Levels.
Each Season Level up will reward you with a prize.
Those that purchase the Season Gold Pass will unlock an extra layer of prizes.
You can only gain these rewards once per season, and they reset with each new season.
Completing all 100 Season levels will also give you permanent EXP, Gold Find, Drop Find, and Stat % Buffs during that season.
All Season levels reset to 0 when a new season starts

Season Quests
How do you level up your Season EXP? Easy! You do daily Season quests.
These are not your standard quests and are instead a little more generic and unique to the Season system, below is a list of example quests you might see!

Item Stats / Quality / Sockets
Our aim is for every item to have its own unique set of stats via a variety of different methods, as follows:
Randomised item stats: An item no longer has static stats, instead it has a range and when the item drops it'll roll its stats based on its min and max parameters.
Added stats (not core stat): An item can drop with extra unique stats, e.g. Crit rate/damage, MR, PR, Luck etc!
Item Quality: There are 6 different item qualities that an item can be; Normal (grey), Common (yellow), Rare (blue), Legendary (Orange), Mythical (Pink) and Godly (Red).
The better the item quality, the higher its base stat parameters are.
Sockets: Each item can have up to 3 sockets, which allow you to insert unique gems into them. What are gems? Well you'll just have to wait and see

Paragon System
Once you have obtained at least level 180, you can enable the Paragon system!
You can turn the system on/off at any time.
When you enable paragon, you stop gaining EXP towards your normal level, and instead gain XP for Paragon levels.
Paragon levels have their own unique EXP table.
Every level you earn, gives you a point in 1 of 4 categories as seen in below screenshot.
You may use these points how you see fit in whatever stat you feel benefits you the most. You can reset this at any time.
All paragon levels reset to 0 at the beginning of each new season.

World Events
Random events will pop up around the province maps and some dungeons.
These Events range from Invasion, Monster slaying, Daily Boss, Weekly Boss.

Stat tracking
A range of stats are tracked in the game so you can see how many mobs, players you've killed and how many times you've died.
There are also leader boards at the end of each boss fight.

Instances
Instances are split into 2 types; PvE and PvP.
**Instances are not the main hunting caves on the server, they compliment them for users that do not enjoy mass PK and want some peace and quiet.**
You can queue solo or in a pre-made party.
Each Instance will have different requirements for it to start, when the minimum number of players has queued you can choose to start early.

The dungeon finder allows users to play with total randoms in a safe environment (PvE). There is no PK, item drops are distributed via a group loot roll system, and all party members receive the prize at the end.

Instance Types
PvE: A variety of different PvE dungeons.
Timed PvE: Same as PVE but with a timer.

PvP Arena (non rated): Fancy a fight? Jump into an Arena match and battle it out with a random. Variety of modes ranging from solo to grouped.
PvP Arena (Rated): Same as above but with PvP rating. You will win/lose arena rating based on the outcome. A leaderboard shows who the best PvPers are on the server.
PvP LastManStanding: A mass brawl where its every man for himself!

Group Loot - Instances Only.
Group loot is simple, whilst in an instance instead of the item dropping on the floor for a "free for all", a window will pop up displaying the item and its stats. You have the option of:

Need - if the item is an actual upgrade to you and you will be wearing it.
Greed - if you need the item just to sell it or benefit another character
Pass - if you're not interested

We understand that in a random group most players will simply need, but the need/greed is more for guild/trusted parties. The system will auto roll (broadcast to the group) and the highest roll wins the item.
Each item in the group loot has an expiry time (2 Minutes) if the time passes and you do not vote it will be automatically voted to Pass.
If the roll winner bag is full and the player failed to receive the item it will be mailed to the player and the player can collect parcel to receive the item.

NOT JUST INSTANCES!! LOTS OF CAVES!!!
For those concerned that the game resolves around instances, it does not, there are a huge amount of hunting caves to satisfy your needs!
The Server features tons of unique monsters with their own special coded AI and individual drop files.

Chat Item Linking Enhancements
You can link your items in the chat by alt + left clicking the item, when you click the item within the chat it'll open the item in a new window to inspect.

We have a new interface unique to the server - we hope you like it!

Level up / down on PK
That's right! If you get PK'd by someone lower level, or within 10 levels higher than you, they'll take your level off you!
Its a straight swap, the dead person loses 1 level, the winner gains 1 level.
There are no rules on this system, if you want to sell levels to players, or gift to your friends, feel free!
This feature is disabled on certain maps, e.g. FIGHT maps.
This only apples when you murder someone, leaving you at risk of cursing your weapon.

PvP Rating with Weekly Reset
Fight in 1v1, 3v3 arena's and/or big battleground style instances to increase your rating and earn PvP currency.Each week your rating is reset back to 0 and you are awarded currency for the rating gained. You can use this currency to buy items from the shop.
We have plans to introduce tournaments and monthly prizes for top rated players.

Monster Name Plates
We've added a new feature that shows Monster name plates
It'll display the following information about the monster:

Name
HP % or HP Digit
(configurable in .ini file)
Monster Strength Level (Lv1-10)
This is not the actual mob level, but its random strength level. Higher level = stronger with better drop/exp rate.

Season 3 has started!
If you haven't played or took a break, now is a great time to join the server.
Season 3 is taking a slightly different approach to season 2 where leveling will be a lot easier and there are a range of teired rare items that are all the same level. There are even a few super rare sets that do not have any level requirement.
We are also capping paragon and normal levels with hard caps so people are not forced to grind 24/7

** NEW FEATURE - ITEM LEVELING **

- Iceland is a new group cave with challenging bosses

** SABUK WALL **
- Sabuk wall opens every day at 8pm for 1 hour.
- It is a King of the hill style map. For every second your guild holds the hill you gain a point
- An overlay will display each guilds points
- Guild with most points at the end of the War wins
- Owning Sabuk Wall allows you access to Special Repair NPC

** GINKO / MUDWALL **
- Both walls now feature the same King of The Hill point based system

- All classes now have a base resillence of 10 (aka 10%)
- MR now reduces magic damage by 40% instead of ignoring the hit

** OTHER **
- SeasonBadge now gives MC SC DC all in 1 so that the badge can be used on any character
- SubCharacterEXP Buff is now set to x2 EXP. This buff is only up to level 300 and auto removes when reaching that level.

REBALANCE OF CAVES + MOBS
- There has been a full rebalance of all HUNTING cave mob stats. Drop file adjustments to follow.
* The following caves have been brought back as high level places ~ TurtleTemple, PrajnaTemple, SandCavern, SnowCave, AntCave
* Some caves have had their target levels changed, such as OST
* All caves have had their mob stats and EXP re balanced
* All drop files have been re-done. Every boss now has a "base" drop file with something unique * Hunting cave levels are 150,160,170,180,190,200,210,220,230,240,250,260,270,275,280,285,290,295,300,305,310,315,320,325
* Group Caves + Instance re-balance to follow in next few days.

SEASON REWARDS + QUESTS

- Season rewards have been redone and massively improved
- 2x new daily Season Quests have been added. Kill count and Instances (rotating for Normal/Heroic/Insane)
- Level requirement quests have been lowered.
- Sunpotion quests have been changed to XL SunPotions
- Weekly Quests now give 20 EXP

ITEM LEVELING

- Item Leveling is now LIVE!

- Smokebomb AC/AMC buff is back to normal, but Agility is only 5-10-15-20 - Potion regene rate has been increased

OTHER

- Season Badges are now multi state
- Season buffs on alt characters are fixed
- Starter Armour/Weapon now look like noob items
- SabukTorch now reduces dura loss by 75% same as other torches
- (S) orbs should now be fixed
- The value of GameGold to Gold in the shop has been rebalanced based on current econemy
- An overhaul of the Gameshop has been performed to bring in line with current econemy
- Lv.240 / 270 books randombook price reduced. Actual books are now in shop at double the randoms cost
- You can now re-roll items using GG as well as gold
- Max Paragon level has been increased to Lv.150
- IceGoddess no longer levels up and her abilities have been toned down
- Super mobs in BDD have been toned down. Archer attack speed drastically lowered
- Few tweaks to various boss and mob drop files
- ChaosLord Instance fixed
- All hunting cave bosses have had a 5% damage reduction
- Gold drops made rarer, but piles increased
- Benes + EXP Pills from mobs reduced
- Bugs on Mega/Super shards fixed
- ShoulderPads gold price reduced
- Group caves re-stated, drop files still need further work (THEY ARE GOING TO BE HARD)
- BattleGround is a PK and drop zone, its a group cave, bosses are hard, be careful!

Season 4 is now live!

** SEASON CHANGES **
- Max Player level is now 340, which can be extended to 345 with new LvCapInc(340-345) scrolls
- Current LevelUpScrolls can be clicked to trade back into 75% of their crafting value in ExpPills + Gold
- Max Paragon level is back to 150 for this season start
- Server base EXP has been increased by 10%
- Season rewards have been adjusted, improved, and contain new items such as Season Torchs

** NEW CAVE **
Temple Of Titans is a brand new never seen before cave.
It features a sub boss: TitanCaster, Boss: TitanBoss, and a Superboss: TitanOverlord
This cave will pose a real challenge, each monster has unique magic attacks
TOT is considered a group cave above Iceland

** MIR KING IS BACK! **
- Mir King is back in BW and GI.
- You can only get the reward once per day. Standard boss drops are not limited
- MirKing prize boxes adjusted and improved

** NEW ITEMS **
- There are 3x new item sets for level 330+. Blaze / Ember / Fury
- Malice items improve at level 335-340 range
- New EXP Food Pills up to 6.2mil
- New Buff potions ~ XL XXL Holy
- SkillBookMats can be obtained to craft Lvl240 + 270 Skill books

** IMPROVEMENTS **
- You can now purchase a 3rd storage tab for 2bil gold or 2k GG
- Guild storage has been expanded from 112 to 154
- Item leveling has changed.
*It is now a set duration of 2 hours.
*The drop down menu now lets you specify an EXP multiplier up to x20
*The higher the multiplier, the more it'll cost.
- Item leveling now allows you to downgrade the level of an item.

** QUALITY OF LIFE **
- Right click to storage now stacks items to an existing stacks
- Search box added to storage window top right

** OTHER **
- Mails older than 30 days will be deleted on server reboots. This will not delete mails with items in them
- You can no longer log out whilst in SmokeBomb protection
- Paralord PvP Power and Resillence amounts halved until Stat changes are live.

- Start level is now 300
- New starters now have all spells at level 3 (instead of 0)
- Starting items have been buffed in stats

- All items under level 300 removed from Drop files / Crafting (If Ive missed anything please report)
- TheBestNPCEver update - removed old potions
- RandomShardBox (S) - (XL) removed from drop files and holy etc rebalanced in drops
- Justic/Valor NPC updated with mats for Divinity > Phantom and orbs removed
- Crafting most items now no longer costs any gold. In most cases the craft would cost more than buying an item.
Only the following LootBoxes now cost gold as follows:
Blaze (10mil), Ember (25mil), Fury (80mil), Malice (150mil), Phantom (300mil), Delusions (500mil), Justice (800mil)
Trading 40 Delusions shards into 10 Justice is free (1k gold)
- You can no longer log out in OS BDD 2F and above.

You can obtain a crystal from finding a "CrystalLootBox" then crossing your fingers when opening hoping for the best!
Crystals only drop from bosses and Lv9-10 mobs
- Durability orbs added to drop files but are super rare
- Bit of a tidy up of the Gameshop
- ExpPotion(Mega) now available for 100mil. ExpPotion(x1.5) and x2 added to shop for GG only. x2 is limited to 1 per day.
- SabukWall is now a no-drop zone to promote some risk-free fighting
- JusticeSword(WAR) Female glow fixed

Just like to point out to anyone that browses this page and thinks my lack of active posting is a negative, its not.
The game is regularly updated, its just all done via Discord which also goes onto the website and launcher.
You can always find a full list on the website https://oldskoolmir.com/ - scroll down to see updates.

If you are put off by the 1 year uptime - again don't be. Catch up is really easy due to the design of Season resets (every 2 months) and constant progression and update of the game.

Today marked another Season reset and a bunch of updates! Seasons now last 2 months instead of 1.

If you was thinking about joining the server or returning then now is the time!


** Patch Notes 28/02**
- Blacklist now stops chat both ways. If someone has you on their blacklist you will no longer see their general chat.
- Drop files have had an overhaul for both Bosses and Mobs.
- New starters should see the low level items more often and be able to farm early sets like Divinity quick and easy
- Sabuk Wall is now live with the new changes
* Sabuk now ends when a new guild takes over the palace
* You cannot rt in Sabuk
* Sins cannot teleport over walls until the main walls or gate has been destroyed
* Sabuk owners can purchase Archers to help defend and repair walls/gates
* MegaDrugs purchasable at Sabuk NPC
- Sabuk / MudWall / Ginko Torchs have all received buffs and made slightly different
- A special SWTorch (1 day expiry) can be bought at the Sabuk Potions NPC along with Mega Pots.
Its up to the Sabuk Owner if they want to open the gates and allow non-guild players to buy these things and gain tax rate or keep it closed to their guild only!
This torch costs 1mil gold, and Pots are 50k gold each.
- Special repair is now available on TheBestNPCEver and can be used for Gold or GG. Gold is x100 standard repair rate.
- Instances have had a overhaul in terms of stats, entry level and drop files.
* You can no longer respawn in an instance, once your dead your done (Tao reincarnation still works)
* Bosses drop similar to normal bosses but have more HP and stats and take longer to kill to offset the reduced risk and solo play
* Instances are limited 3 daily attempts
* MirEmperor and ChaosLord are 1 daily attempt and should be attempted as a group
- EventPotion moved to Teleport NPC so people don't miss it (1 now available!)
- Season now lasts 2 months. Previous Season buff boxes cannot be used in new seasons
- Season Rewards go up to level 300
- Start zone is now BW instead of Ginko
- Safezone sizes and few NPCs moved around to stop people standing on NPCs

** BUG FIXES **
- Instances now correctly shows Hours, Mins, Secs
- Instance banner is to the right, target dialog remains in center
- Marriage and Mentor is now a 1 day cooldown
- Instances now give a TownTeleport on enter

All latest patch notes. Sorry I'm bit lazy at posting them here :ROFLMAO:

06-03
- Various code adjustments to Gold.
- Gold find % now stacks. E.g. 20% Season pass, 20% Shards, 10% Sabuk would result in 50% more gold.
- Guild Tax has been re-worked and you can now set 0/10/20/30% Tax rate.
* Guild Tax counts gold picked up from the floor by you or your pet only. Not Item sales/Auction/Trades/GoldBar opens etc
- ChaosLord/MirEmperor now gives a instance box per person rather than group drop, and some improvements to their drop files.
- Normal mob drop files made a bit better.
- Boss drop files changed again and made hopefully better.
- Players under level 320 now get a "Newbie buff" that gives AC/AMC to help ease them in
- Rebalanced some bosses that high multiplier nuke attacks
- Sabuk no longer restarts when Palace
- Sabuk Palace is no longer a drop zone
- Season rewards now have a SeasonPet at certain levels. It is a strong version of XmasPet

09-03
- RandomShardBoxes and Newer Lootboxes (Justice etc) now stack up to 25
- Cooldown removed on crafting Shardboxes
- Instance cooldown reduced to 1min
- Work done on cheat detection, if you're getting kicked, turn off speed manipulation programs such as CheatEngine.
- You can no longer take Sabuk within first 15mins of starting.
* This is to avoid players swapping the castle over to their 2nd guild account and instantly ending the war
- Adjusted a few of the lower level mob drops
- Critical hits are now yellow text and larger
- Item linking can only be done with a max of 25 characters to stop the chat bug
- Buff have had their max stat increased as follows:
..Soulshield / Magic shield 300 > 400
..UltimateEnhancer 300 > 400
..ProtectionField 250 > 500
..Rage 70 > 500
..MagicBooster 70 > 400
- Diminishing returns for LifeSteal + Reflect increased from 30 to 50
- Reflect now reflects (and in turn reduces damage) by 40% up from 25%. Cooldown reduced to 2 secs
- LifeSteal improved vs bosses by about 25%
- LifeSteal cooldown reduces from 1 sec to 0.5 sec (vs Players only)
- LifeSteal is now 100% better as a warrior, 50% better as a Sin, Tao/Wiz no change. (vs Players only)
- Critical Damage has had its damaged nerf quite heavily as it was massively overtuned.
10% Crit damage is now equal to 2% more damage if it crits. This should be more balanced vs Strong shards.
A Holy Crit damage shard is 2%, where as a strongshard is 1.75%. If you can get the Crit rate to match it - it will be better
For that reason diminishing returns has been removed from Crit damage/rate

14-03
** Drops **
- GoldBars etc no longer drop, instead its now all Gold Piles. This greatly increases the worth of Gold find % buffs/shards/items
- Justice / Valor now go directly into your bag. If grouped the amount is split evenly to those in range
- Justice / Valor amount has been buffed a bit and is now a bit random each time.
E.g. the mob will drop 8-13 Justice instead of always dropping the same 10.
- Few other drop adjustments, mainly tidying up the drops
- Should be less crap on the floor now and easier to see if a nice item dropped
- Mob drops at Mirgod are improved

** MirGod **
- MirGod is now back ingame, should be well worth the effort

** Class Balance **
- DoubleSlash attack frame speed reduced by about 20%
- Spells that ignore AC/AMC has reduced from 50% ignore to 35% ignore in PvP only (PvE remains 50%)
- MagicShield damage reduction reduced from 50% to 40% in PvP onlyWiz with pro ring have 70% damage reduction (40% from Pro, then further 50% from shield).
Wiz a pro ring + shield, taking 100 damage would = 30 HP taken
After change: 100 damage = 36 HP taken.
So if you still use a pro, the 10% shield nerf is actually a 6% nerf
If you do not use a pro, it is a flat 10% nerf.
- Assassin base AC gain is every 5 levels instead of 3 (very small nerf to base AC)
- ProtectionField increases AC by 20% up from 17%. Cap increased from 500 > 1000
- LifeSteal now has floating green regene text
- Max SoulShield/BlessedArmour increased to 750
- Mobs will now only flinch a player every 2 seconds. PvP remains same at every 0.4secs
- Fixed issue with TaoPets not dynamically updating stats (it would only snapshot on summon)

** OTHER **
- Justice items have had their HP/MP% increased by 1%
- Trainer now allows for critical hits so you can better test DPS in different kits
- When Guild levels up it now puts a message in chat
- Bug fixes to LifeSteal causing weird HP problems
- Instances now end after 5mins and tooltips timers fixed
- At least 1 of the palace walls must be destroyed before you
- Weekly Instance quest requirement lowered 10 -> 4.
- Added another weekly quest for normal Instance

They say better late than never, but the Easter Event is now live!
It will be in game for 1 week until 12-04-2021.
Following the event being closed, a new patch will be released with new items, cave, boss, level cap increase and various other bits!
Now is a great time to come catch up with the event giving a lot of goodies!

** NEW STUFF **
- 3 New Item sets; Loyal (Lv.400-410) / Nightmare (Lv.410-420) / Twisted (Lv.420-430)
- 1 New Super Set; MirOS - Base Lv.1 and Improves through Lv.360-430 ranges
- Some 'proper oldskool' random items. The classics. My favourites. GreatHelmet, Thunderring, Taocoronet etc.
These items have super stats, but break on death, so dont wear them if you don't have a box of tissues near by.
- New Stones from UltraFragmentLootBox Lv.318-430 [ DCFragment(16) - (30) etc ]
- New UltraCrystalLootBox only dropping from ParaLord who has had a buff!
- New Ultra Shards, and I mean all shards!
- New SocketOrbs Lv.400-450
- 2x Brand new Companion pets exclusive to Gameshop. Has super fast pick up speed!
- New 'Special ring' ~ FiegnDeathRing ~ 'Whilst wearing this ring you cannot take more then 25% of your Max HP in a single hit'
- Rebalance of all Boss drop files
- Server base EXP increased by 10%

** Changes / Balance / Fixes **
- Sabuk no longer ends when owner changes, lasts full 30 mins
- Sabuk teleport in now has random teleport entry when war isn't on
- YinYangBurst 10% damage nerf as was too close to damage of FlamingSword
- Warrior HP Potion regene rate reduced
- Sins HP Potion regene rate increased
- PoisonCloud now lasts for 8 seconds (up from 6) but has a cooldown of 6secs (up from 3). MP Usage also increased
- Wizards Blizard / Meteor strike no longer shared a cooldown and have had a few code improvements
- Newbie (starter) buff goes up to Lv.360
- Reroll / repair costs for all items have been reviewed and greatly reduced gold costs for low level sets (Trance etc)

** SEASON PASS IMPROVEMENTS **
- Season Pass holders now get slightly better buffs
- Season Pass holders can summon a Season Pet
- SeasonTorch has been buffed
- Season Pass holders get a 20% discount on Gold when using the Item Re Roll NPC!
- Season rewards (normal + pass) revamped with newer, better rewards
- Season Buff boxes now expire after 3 days, so use them when you get them!

Server termination on 29/10/2021
First off let me thank anyone that has played the server and been part of the journey, its been awesome developing and running the game for you all.

However, I have decided to close the server down for good due to real life reasons. I am unable to commit any time and for that I am sorry. Over the past 2 months I have tried to do what I can but its just not possible.

Thank you so much for playing, server will remain online until Oct 29th for anyone that wants their remaining fix. XP and Drop rate has been increased significantly for a bit of fun
