64 should not cause any problems over 32, i use Vista 64 every day. 64 bit can run 32 bit programmes but 32 bit can't run 64 bit.

The graphics card holds the support for shaders, but if you have out of date drivers that could cause issues. A lot of game problems that are caused in vista (not mainly in next gen etc games) is because of the location of the my documents folders. I doubt and graphics card that is integrated...

Do you have the vista side bar up with the opacity effect on? Take if off if you do it will eat up resources.

just because it has a lot of memory doesnt mean its good, it could be shared memory, which means it actually takes memory off your ram to process graphics which is crap. Are all your drivers up to date? If still no luck do the best thing you can do Dual boot XP or just uninstall vista.
