Hi,

You need Windows XP to create your own e.i. server isnt it???

coz before i was trying to make a server on windows 98 and it wouldnt work... so like a week later i went out and bought an upgrade ofr windows XP which costed quite alot of money TBH and now i dont even use the windows XP ¬_¬

The server itself will run on XP - the problem comes with the SQL bit - I think i heard this is a version of sql that will install on XP - but SQL is a Server thing and desinged to run on a Server OS.

I ran SQL 2000 on Windows 2000 Server - it also rungs on NT4 Server and Windows 2003 Server - it will not install on XP as this is a desktop operinating system - so thats the problem you face.

How Many machines do you have? Are you just messing about or want to run a public server?

I run SQL 2000 On One machine - EI Server on another and the client on my main Desktop machine.

i've created a server on windows xp wit sql and everythign installed on it and dont forget its mysql not mssql
