Request As a player, would these shadows annoy you?

I cant decide. I have been introducing some new mobs, and unfortunately i cant seem to get the shadows any better than this.

The current alternative is having no shadows, which i REALLLY hate, as it just makes the mobs look like they do not belong on the ground.

As you can see, when i hover over the monster, the shadow becomes much nicer.

Let me know what you think? Is it too much?

And this is exactly my concern, Fine is what i think when i see it, but i cant decide if its better without the shadows. Normally i hate mobs without shadows, but in this case, these might just be better.

They're smaller mob - so you could try 2 things

1. Rip out the mir3 shadow generator that makes them on the fly for players (its in Zircon i expect) - it might look okay for those monsters.
2. Paulker released a tool which creates shadows for monsters and makes a separate lib file for them. I don't have the link handy right now but i expect its on crystal section somewhere / mirfiles.

I have tried, everything i try on photoshop, either breaks it or makes it worse xD. This is the best mixture i have found in hours of trying.

I think @forspinki had a similar issue with shadows. Can't remember how he fixed it but may be worth dropping him a message

I think the shadows are just too dark compared to your standard mobs;


The shadow difference is huge from yours to the standard which is why it sticks out so much I guess.

The bluey shadow issue comes from the lib editor, you're not handling your PNGs correctly.

Look for the color I mentioned above and change it to transparent.
