Hi all,

Looking to build a gaming setup and looking for the best places to buy the components. Would like to compare the price difference of prebuilt vs building yourself. Finance options are a must and a low APR is a bonus!

Best advice would be to start off visiting PCPartPicker, they have pre-builds but the option to also make your own config.

Once you've done that it will tell you if everything should work together and then lists the cheapest price online.

I use scan.co.uk

It's not far from me so I just drive to it. They've loads of different gaming rigs set up for you to play on. Always a fun trip.

So the build I want is coming out at 1.5k pretty much but that's a bit more than i'd like to spend. that's with an aftermarket 4070 and i5 13600k or something along those lines.

Do i really need that firepower or can i go to a 4060 :/

Depends what you are playing I guess.

Could always look to upgrade in the future.

I think the best thing would to do is get a decent power supply with enough watts for future proofing. 900/1000+ psu will let you just slap in any future gpu.

My issue now is that my 750 Watt psu won’t let me upgrade to any 40 series card. So personally i think its better to invest on a better psu first.

Personally I think I'd be building the wrong pc if I'm thinking about upgrading it during the build phase

step one, decide what sort of case you want, then go from there. as that'll decide what size board you can use etc I'd recommend a nzxt or a fractal design case, they pretty good, IMO.

use PC part picker, then search the parts online also to find cheaper options hopefully, :P

don't go 4060, 4060ti minium tbh

what is it you want to do on it?

but be sure to take lots of pictures/videos and share it and share some pcpartpicker options too once you decided :P
check https://www.hotukdeals.com/ too and if buying from some companies you can get cashback, use https://www.quidco.com/

(quidco referral link if you want to use it, gives you like £5?)
