1. Wanting to be able to sort my columns from 0 - 1 but it mvoe the whole row and not just the column Row.
2. Wanting to show just rows with a set keyword in a particular column.

Not really sure I understand what you're asking in 1.
Are you saying you want to sort rows but only the cells in one or two columns, not all of them ?
ie. sort A1, B1, A2, B2 but leave C onwards and also row 3 ?
If so, simply highlight the specific cells in question and not the whole row.

Check out Leila Gharani, she's very good with excel tips and tricks, not bad to look at either.

1. What
2. Should be achievable just by filtering

2— would a vlookup with helper column not help with this?

Example you have a database of students so same student id same student name popping up multiple times so normal vlookup ain't gonna work. However you can combine the student id with another column to get unique value to search for which becomes your helper column.

Example:
Student1////maths////pass
Student1///science///fail
Student2///maths///fail
Student2///science///fail

You add a helper column by combining column student id with pass result and then you can vlookup to bring up all passes for each individual that can run on an entire database to give you pass and fail results across all classes no matter how big your database.

Based on what your asking on number 2 only find certain items with keywords could potentially help.

As tai says it is basically just the job of a filter but could do it to large amounts of data.

Try talking more about what it is your doing as it's a bit faigue.

Good luck!
