Request How exactly does one start?

How does one start up a new server? I'd like to give it a dig, but not sure how to start. Anywhere for guidance?

This contains all of the server files along with lots of other information to get you going. The best thing would be to chat with someone who owns a server and they can show you how it is set up. Please bear in mind, this is for a 3.55 server, not Kings or GSP.

Should you use a full set of my Sting3G server files (there is a set on that thread) it would basically be as below;

Setup a Windows XP PC with Chinese Language support
Copy all files to C:\Mud3
Install SQL 2000
Restore the Databases (found in C:\Mud3\Databases)
Update all IP addresses (There is a post in the "one thread")
Setup port forwarding on Router for ports 3000,7000,7010,7100,7200
Download a client to your computer (you can get one from Sting3G.com)
Update IP address in client (you need ListMake.exe for that).
Run the client and play the game...
