I Have decided to ask because i feel Like learning how to do These so i can start to build my Own server ready For when i Get My P.c. Upgraded.

Tell Me what Ya Think to These Specs Aswell plz:

2500+ Amd Athalon
512 ddr ram (only to Tide Over untill My Next pay check, any thoughts?)
120 gb and 12gb 7200rpm hdd (12gb from old comp)
geforce 4 graphics with tv out
42x cd-writer
dvd-writer

any thoughts i ghave a limit of £350 so far i've got to £250 not including dvd-writer

id go with the geforce fx 5200 128mb 8x agp, about $80.

Isnt it overkill for jst a server PC? Or is it supposed to run the server at the same time u use the machine? If so - get some more and faster memory.

how much faster can he go lol? he said ddr and he didnt say the speed. only other option is 1066 rdram on a p4. but thats expensive.

512 for server + general usage jst is not enough in my experiance.
