No
I have pretty much done this recently myself.

If like me you don't have an interest in hardcore gaming. If you want a workhorse type pc then just look around for a lenovo business pc and then gut it into a new case and just chuck a graphics card in it. Depending on the graphics card you get you might need a decent psu as well. ALSO make sure you get the lenovo tower versions and not sff etc..

Something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363956567824 i would get, then wait for more money to buy the rest. That is a reasonable price and it can be used as-is until you get more money.

For reference, I got:
Ebay:
£80----- Lenovo ThinkCentre m93p i7-4790; 32gb ram; 1024gb hdd; 512gb ssd with windows 10 pro
£120----Corsair RM850x (2021 edition) -- This was brand new.
£35----- NZXT 710 case

Facebook:
£70 Nvidia GTX 980 ti

There was some various other items that cost £ like converters for proprietary connectors but it was very miniscule compared to the rest.

I bought a DIY build for £300 from some dude off Facebook 2 years ago. Running like a dream (mostly) to this day. Plays mir lovely runs VS no problem. Developed Banshee on it and still do... My £900 laptop sits next to it unused currently!

Think I got lucky though to be fair.
reinds me need to stick my old one on facebook, should have done it back when GPU's were mega high prices haha

You can get a decent setup nowadays for £300, 2nd hand off facebook marketplace
+1 I got my laptop off Facebook, spent £100 on a 1tb ssd and like £40 on a single 16gb dimm.
Laptop cost me £120
Total £260
Plays mir perfectly fine, can handle visual studio and really any task i through at it.

If you’re looking to go up to a desktop then PC Part Picker is a great website to use. Will help you. Put the parts you want in and it’ll tell you if it’s compatible, prices and where to buy. They have pre build set ups too.
