Right me again

I have changed the way the Infraction system works, it is still the same system and Infractions will still be handed out.

What has changed is that Section Mods should not now be able to out right ban a forum member (SMods and above will only have that power)

Infractions are given out the same way (all members of staff can hand out infractions)
If a forum member goes over 40 points their account will be "Silenced" for anything between 12 hours to 10 days.
What this means is that the "Silenced" member will not be able to post for the amount of time that they are over the 40 points, they can read the forum.

Forum rules will be updated in the next few days.

In short Section Mods can not ban members but can Silence them
SMods and Admins can and if reported will ban members

List of Infractions and times are below

  • Inappropriate Language = 1 point for 2 days
  • Sig/Avatar violation = 2 points for 5 days
  • Double Posting = 1 point for 2 days
  • General spamming = 5 points for 5 days
  • Knowingly flouted a rule = 5 points for 10 days
  • Advertised other MIR forum without permission = 10 points for 5 days
  • Unreasonable offence directed at staff or member(s) = 10 points for 10 days
  • Regular bullying of other member(s) or staff = 15 points for 15 days
  • Urban Cooldown (No talky for you) = 41 points for 12 hours

Personally don't agree with those time frames, some have gone from like 6-12 months to 2-5 days?

Better than nothing though!

Erm it is a possibility. Just because YOU may be able to brush it off doesn't mean others can.

Like they have done before they joined LOMCN.

Not gonna discuss it, its a rule, its not a stupid rule, It is infact one of the most enforced rules there is.

And the rule is there to prevent people ganging up or constantly flaming a certain member. You dont have to say "Im being bullied" for bullying to occur.

Just because you laugh at the thought of Internet Bullying, Doesnt mean it doesnt happen.

Your obviously playing the hard man and if you can get your head around the fact that bullying (Weather its name calling, or constant abuse) does happen on the Internet, And the rule is there to prevent it. Whats the big deal?

Should have just worded it "Regular flaming of other member(s) or staff"

Todd your a retard, regular flaming (bullying) towards a member should be prevented by moderators, how is the user able to prevent it otherwise?

Craig, no.

This thread ends.

New system isn't up for discussion really - like it or not, it's an announcement.
