Hi,

My nephew wants a gaming pc for xmas and i have the task to spec and build it and was Wondering if anyone who is up to date with current hardware would mind recommending the best components for £500-£600 ideally at the lower end, including a monitor.

or even just advice such as is it worth going for i5 if a lower end GPU wont bottleneck a i3 etc, its been a while for me.

save me watching countless youtube review videos :D

cheers.

Forget about Intel.

Get a Ryzen 5 2600. It's way cheaper than a i5 8400 with a very similar performance and you don't need to buy a fan because the one that comes with the processor works pretty well if you don't OC.

I’m not ultra savvy on PC builds but I have brought 2 gaming PC bundles (one for me and one for my step son), over the last year and they are great.

Vendor - PC Specialist on Ebay

Price - £350

Specs - i5 // NVIDIA 1050 graphics // 16GB

Bundle - comes with monitor // light up keyboard // gaming mouse // WiFi dongle // windows 10

It’s perfect for games like Mir // Fortnite // Minecraft // path of exile

There’s lots to choose from if you type in PC gaming bundle and there all pretty similar.

But with your price range you could pick up an i7 // NVIDIA 1060 with the bundle I’m sure.

Most of them offer a 1 year send back fix policy so look for that in the description. Hope that helps.

EDIT - been a long day and mis read your post LOL won’t delete it tho as it may help someone anyways ... good luck with your build 👍🏻👍🏻
