I am sure it won't be hard for you to find people willing to work with you from LOMCN on such tasks, being able to spread the workload will help you immensely and let you focus on the aspects of making a server you find most enjoyable.

Yep certainly true, but at the moment I am just dipping my toes into the C++ language, Whilst I am not too worried about the client side of the development since there's no Windows Controls used.

My concern with using C++ is Server Side / Tools since there's no easy way to build the UI.

Haha, yep good luck with that. You litterally have to draw and code the UI and simple tools functionality from scratch in C++. Its something .NET developerstake for granted.

Wouldn't the easiest thing to do be build the server in c# and the client in C++? Faster yet still learning something new.

Yes
You could build an app in c# that has the tools & on/off button for the server. But the actual server part seperately in c++

Why do you need a UI? Wouldn't it be easier to run it from a terminal and use json for the config files. Well, you don't need to run it from a terminal but
you don't need all those menus and UIs in a server.

It's wrong to assume such things, so I'll ask politely.
Do you have brain damage? Smoke crack maybe? Dropped on your head a few too many times?

These are the real question's LOMCN should be asking.

Pretty sure nobody is claiming to be a specialist. Just replying with constructive advise based on actual experience...
