Anti Virus

After going through many sites looking for a very good anti virus to use, I'm still stumped on what to use.

I'm looking for something that doesn't eat massive amounts of resources, yet still protects me more than my free edition of AVG.

I'm also looking for one that doesn't have pop ups constantly asking me stuff.

When i used Norton a couple of years ago, it constantly popped up telling me random things that i don't think i needed to know.

Just wanting something like AVG but more protection at the same time.

Hope you guys can suggest something.

I always advise people to not scrimp, you get what you pay for - mcafee suite is what I advise. I agree with the info on Norton......I still wonder why so many retailers recommend it :S
