This is what i do. Use alcohol 120%, mount the image, access the image and you will see some folders, in 1 of the folders there will be a file ending in .dat, copy the file to you hdd and rename it to *.mpeg (* being the name of the film)
UGH! DVD/mp2 disc images are a real pain to play without having DVD playback software. Took me hours on end to get the codecs setup correctly for mp2-transport streams.
It was reccomended to me by a text document that came when i downloaded the new fast and the furious movie lol :P
EDIT: The time (1:30 or whatever) of the filem can be shown wrong at times. This problem never occured to me, however, i did have one problem which was that the sound was abit jumpy, this may have just been the cpy of fnf BIN file though. Overall, there are no problems which i could find with VLC media player that would stop you from watching a movie.
VLC is good as you don't really have to donwload any codecs, it plays everything + it's very lightweight - perfect for when i want to watch a movie on my laptop.
Yep, true. I just removed it from my PC though, only because i have alot of crap already on it (not calling vlc crap btw :P ). But i shall be putting VLC on my laptop
the only codec ive found that i needed to install while using vlc as my standard media player is Indeo. The official site requires payment but you can get a ripped free version easily just by searching google.
