Farril lives in a dream world, let him be.

No you cant just magically add a password to a folder in any version of WinXP without additional software. You can however add passwords to 'compressed folders' - which are ZIP's. There are also things called permissions which let you set which users on your system/network can access the resource.

You can set permissions on the folder. I am not sure what do you mean by "people".

If you are referring people as other users on your computer...

goto cmd
CACLS D:\dir\ /E /D Username

cacls = a program to modify permission
D:\dir\ = the directory you want to set permission
/E = Edit the permission
/D Username = Block Username from accessing you can put group name in there as well.

be careful with this command...
if you forgot to put /E, you are replacing the permission with no access with everyone
