I simply just need to know weather a spark from the "live" wire/connector is a good thing when its connected to the battery?

The reason for this is because my battery appears to be different from others -_- Usually on a car battery the red wire goes on positive, and the black on negative (as far as i know?), but its the other way around on my car battery (red > negative, black > positive>).

When i connect the charger how it should be (red > + , black > - ), theres no spark, or nothing. But when i connect it the other way around (black > +, red > -) theres a spark (surely a good thing?).

You should get what i mean. I think i may have been given false info about car batterys ><

Cheers blam, provided the info i needed (i think) :D

"In the past this was different, some cars had 'positive ground'"

Explains it all tbh, the car i have is an old car, so it must have a positive ground as the black cable in the car connects to the + on the battery. ^^

Dw, in the future ill get a newer car which has a "negative" ground. :)
