DBNETLIB error

i get the error
[01/12/2007 21:27:46] StartTimer exception: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied

i have downloaded loads of patches and security tools for SQL2000 but i cant seem to get it working
i even downloaded ODBC but that was no helm either ><(i dont even think it installed tbh)


p.s - im using a router , i read somewhere that if ur using a router u cannot run a server , is this correct ?

2nd - you can run it fine on a router you just have to forward ports 7000 7100 7200 to your local ip, and use your local ip (192.168.*.*) in the files insted of 127.0.0.1

hope you get the 1st prob sorted

you havent changed the name of your database or put the right user and anad password in ur !setup file.

sorry but i have no idea how to forwar ports and stuff like that , im new to servers ><

and tjss i dont think thats the problem because i can go ingame if the server is offline

what is the make and model number of your router ?

that brings up a list of programs mir isnot listed but it will be near enough the same but ports will be 7000 7100 7200 those are the ports that need to be forwarded, just get into the admin screen of the router and follow the instructions on the portforwarding site but use the ports mentioned above
