Hello there guys, i have some general questions, here they are:

Does the server require fast uploading speed or fast downloading speed? if would 24 mb with 40gb limit be enough?

Would a 1gb ram(700mhz i think) and 2,8ghz computer suit a server alone with this internet?


Im just asking as it would save me money and a good pc if this would work on these parameters.

It is enough what you have, you could upload alomejor 1 gb of ram.
But to mount a server without loading a lot of monsters going pretty well.

Need 2 gb ram minium and good upload speed ( maybe 1-2 mb u can host 50-100 user)

For host server need good upload and download for example i have 10.4 mb download and 1.7 mb download, with this and 2 gb ram i host 60 user ( no lag)

and better use Core oder Quad CPU, it made it easyer, the server use from time to time 99% CPU.
If you have a Core CPU it use 50% and you have 50% to work on the server.

currently i have 10mb of download and 1mb of upload for me and every 1 in the house. I would like to take 24mb with 40gb limit, thats about 2,5 upload. What do you recon guys, would it work with the limit?

TO RUN A SERVER MINIMAL:

CPU: Single Core - 2.4ghz
MEM: 512mb
HDD: 80 IDE
DOWN: 8mb
UPLO: 1mb

TO RUN A SERVER RECOMMENDED:

CPU: Dual 1.6ghz per core
MEM: 2gb
HDD: 80gb Sata 2
DOWN: 15mb
UPLO: 1mb - 2mb

I wouldn't recommend using a connection that has a usage limit, as your connection will be monitored by your ISP and throttling the bandwidth on a certain port, can be reduced by your ISP if it effects performance for anything else IE: Web Browsing and yes ISP's do monitor all bandwidth on your connection.

Well you're posting in a random thread with virtually no information on your problem...what server are you playing?

I would say at least 2gig minimum, as SQL along will use more than 512mb.

And for kings you need:
dual or triple core: 3 ghz per core ( ei use 50% when u have more lures)
2 gb ram ddr2/ddr3
80/160 gb sata2
8-10 mb donwload
1-2 mb upload

With this you can host more than 70 users.
