Can someone please help me find the correct audio codec/driver for the soundmax AD1981A 
I just recently installed the realtek version of the AC'97 codec and I've had to turn off the onboard sound in BIOS because it gives me the BSOD otherwise. Please if anyone can help me locate the friggin thing!!

I have now correctly aquired the codecs required. However the only way I can start the system up with the onboard sound enabled is in Safemode. When attempting to uninstall the driver for realtek [in Device Manager] the system hangs. Any ideas please?

I've done it! I simply deleted Realtek's system files [risky I know lol] then forced it to update using soundmax files
