Help needed. New ISP= laggy mir

hi peeps, just got talktalk upto 8meg broadband and i lag like **** on mir. Im gettin downloaded speed of 240ish kb/sec though. Any help please?

im using XP home, i had bt before and had a dl speed of 60kb/sec and mir would run perfect. I take this laptop to my friends house often and play mir using his internet and it runs perfect too.

firewall? very strange.. try neotrace on the ip of the server to see if where the slowdown occurs. (Neotrace pings every step of the way to the server)

only have windows firewall. i used neotrace on the servers ip what am i looking for exactly

the nodes between you and the host ip, which one is unusually long giving a reply to a ping

there is 12 nodes, 9-11 is extremely long going all the way up the uk and back down and node 10 is unknown

BT = TalkTalk =carphonewarehouse = Aol=all other adsl telephoneline filter isps= **** isp
and you should have never switched from the original BT in the first place just to save on a few quid but to lose on service.

cant tell you how to clear lag but i can tell you that you were mad switching.

Considering on your 8meg line you should be downloading at around 900kb/sec I'd say you have a really bad line

BT are ****, can't blame him for switching.

I'm on a 500kb BT connection (i pay for *upto* 8meg.) and mir runs fine.

apart from when i get attacked by another player, then it all just goes to pot. dont know why but all i need is 1 person to hit me to make me lag -_- which makes pvp a no no

Exactly. I pay for 8mb but I only get 150kb/s and Im still fine on mir.
Funny enough a lot faster than some other players.

I get about 500kb/s and laggy as **** on mir. Also, paying for a 8mb connection, but can only receive 6mb due to my area location -_-.

Dosent TalkTalks broadband come completely free when you order their phone package though?

Can't expect good service for free :O

hehehe talk talk are a waste of time you get contracted into poor service ect not even worth it. Im on the same type of package with bt its *upto 8 meg* i receive download speeds of over 1 mb on a good day But it states on my router the speed is 7meg lol!
