The Asus. No brainer really. Spec is better, build quality is...well its asus and to top it off if there is anything wrong, you have the Asus warranty!

Don't be fooled by their contrast ratio claims, DFC was created by them!

Not a fan of LG in general really.

Contrast ratio in a nutshell (if you didn't know) is the darkest black vs the lightest white.

With LCD technology, it basically means how good the individual pixels block out the backlight.

DCR "cheats" in that the brightest white is achieved by turning up the backlight and then turns down the backlight for the darkest black. So if you have a scene with both dark and light, it will never achieve the stated DCR.

If you play games and have DCR enabled, really quick movements from bright to dark (or vice versa).... you'll notice the display change the backlight as it can't keep up with rapid changes.

Companies provide DCR specs since it's nice big number, this is useless and not really indicative of the actual display. They should be forced to give both OR just the standard.

I have literally just had 2 of the 22" version of the asus screen turn up today. I'll let you know how they are. I've currently got a 22" samsung led monitor that I'll be comparing them too.

If you decide on purchasing from Ebuyer, let me know as I have a business account with them and might be able to get it slightly cheaper for you ;-)
