1. General Information
This thread is for people intrested in playing RTS games online. RTS or "Real Time Strategy" games are usually military/war based games where you build a base/town and develop an army, and use tactics, research and skill to defeat enemies. Examples are Command and Conquer, and Age of Empires.
The matches held in this section will be "just for fun" at first, but later on we may develop leagues or competitions for the more popular games. Each match will typically be for 4-8 players, although it is possible to have 2-8 players in each match, 4-8 will give more people an opportunity to play, and makes it more worthwhile to organise.
The games listed in this section are sorted into 2 seperate categories. *Uncracked* and *Cracked*. Uncracked means you HAVE to own a legal copy of the game to play it online, Cracked means you can download a copy and play.
It is also important to pay attention to the Version number of the game in the game list. Various games have expansions that wont work in matches that arent using that expansion, meaning if someone without the expansion attempts to join a game using it, it wont let them. Im unsure of the status of some games, but I know the Command and Conquer series will allow you to chose wether you want the expansion loaded or not each time you launch the game.
For games like command and conquer, dataforce has informed us of a program called "hamachi" which sets up a VPN allowing the games to be played over a LAN without actually being in a LAN. Hamachi can be downloaded from here http://www.hamachi.cc/download/list.php
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Rules
Seeing as matches require everyone to be present there will be little tolerance for not showing up for a match, its bad manners and arrogant, it also makes it unfair on people that missed out on a place in the game.
Each match will have two times set:
The first time set in Blue will be the time you have to be logged on and in the "lobby" area for the game. There will be a 5 minute period after this time for you to be there, at which point your place is for lost and given to someone else.
The Second time, is the time the match is due to start, this time will be set in Green it will be 20 minutes after the Blue time, which gives people 15 minutes or so to get drinks, piss, etc.
There is no "pause' online, so anything you need to do afterwards is at your own discretion and risk. If you are not back in time, you risk being kicked from the match and losing your place.
Anyone who has to be kicked from a match or doesnt show up will be suspended for a week. You will also be suspended if you are constantly late. People who are kicked often, or late all the time will eventually be 100% banned from participation.
Cheating is an instant ban, unless the match specifically allows cheats.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Match and Application Information
Matches will be posted around 1 week in advance, maybe more maybe less. Each match will be displayed like the following example:

*Back-up* Player 2
The Bold and Underlined test shows the game name and expansion (if any are being used)
The number inside the ( ) show the number of available player slots. There will also be 2 additional slots for back-up players for each match.
The number inside the [ ] is the matchcode. This is used to apply to join a game. Simply copy the [ ] and the code inside it, and send a PM to me with it as the subject of the PM. Include in the PM the times your are avaiable to play on that day, and any other information you think is important.
The next line contains the date, and the day of the week the game is being held on.
Next are the login and start-times as outlined in the rule sections. You MUST be logged into the lobby by the login time, and ready to play by the start time, or risk losing your place.
When all player slots and back-up player slots are filled, the players names will be Red. This means nobody else can apply for the game
On the day of the game, you will be sent a PM with a "password" in it, upon entering the room, you should say the password, and your LOMCN username so that nobody can steal your place.
Back-up players should be available on here around the time of the match incase they are needed. They should also check during the day as I will PM you if someone drops out. If players no-show or are kicked before the game starts, you will be pm'ed asap. The first to respond gets the place. There is no penalty for not responding, as you are not expected to turn up, but its your loss if your dont. back-up players will be given a short timeslot to get themselves ready, but should try to log on as soon as they are confirmed.
