Welcome all! I'm just curious does anyone has made Mir working on Linux? I've been trying to do this at some time ago using Wine... i've did it but i've had horribly FPS rate what was making game unplayable.

Anyway times are changing and i wasnt using Linux for few months, in this time surely many of new versions of Wine and Cedega has been released and this could help in running Mir. Anyone made it?

As I know, DirectX is needed to run Mir3 client. Wine hasn't a good support for DirectX, Cedega has but it's not free :)
Maybe you can use virtualization. Install Weendoze on some virtual machine and try to play Mir3.

Well thanks for hints, but it would be good if anyone who has tried can answer...

You are getting replys from people who have tried.

Your best bet is getting a version of linux with direcx support, cause not all platforms support it. Same with graphic support.

Knoppix is good though.

Anyway i'll try sometime, when Linux will be more compatible with DirectX applications.

As i've said " I'm just curious".

Thanks.
