This is my first mir 3 server, i have had experience with mir 2 and had a small server running over lan for friends (which i hope to do with mir 3)

I have followed the various guides, checked ips rechecked, reinstalled sql, re setup ODBC, searched the forum etc...

Now i started by none of the gates opening "---][---" sorted out ip's etc and now they seem to open fine (well, all but one). I am trying to get the server to boot up on one machine before changing ip's and putting it over lan and connecting to it.

I have probably over looked something very simple but just need someone to point me in the right direction.

this is what im getting:

mirproblem1.jpg

also i beleive all my i.p's/ini files are correct, but here they are (well the main ones) is there any others i should check? i noticed the DBSrv300 had various ip addresses in when i unzipped (i changed these to 127.0.0.1, is that right?)

SelChrGate mirgate.ini
[server]
Color=Green
Title='SelChr Gate'
ServerPort=5010
GatePort=7100
index=0
Server1=127.0.0.1
Server2=

Server4=
Server5=
RunGate mirgate.ini
[server]

Title='GameServer Gate1'
ServerPort=5010
GatePort=7200

Server1=127.0.0.1

Server5=
mir300 !setup.ini
DBAddr=127.0.0.1
DBPort=6000
IDSAddr=127.0.0.1
IDSPort=5600
MsgSrvAddr=127.0.0.1
MsgSrvPort=4900
Also (for the error) i am using the client mir3/mir4.exe from the (retired) camelot server.

[Setup]
ItemNumber=19256214
ClientFile1=Mir4.dat
ClientFile2=mir3.exe
ClientFile3=mir3.dat

LogGate mirlogin.ini
[server]
addr=127.0.0.1
remoteport=5500
localport=7000

firstlimit=800
maxlimit=1200
and the DBSrv300 is set up as follows:

selchar gate ini
port 5100 not 5010

and for the 3 files.. you need to have these files beside your eiserver.exe missing any of them = error...
ClientFile1=Mir4.dat
ClientFile2=mir3.exe

Kaori you are a star, the server boots up 100% a ok now...

However...

I put the server "LIVE" by changing the I.P's from 127.0.0.1 to my net ip on all the relevant ini files, and also in the dbsrv300 config but i cannot seem to connect to it from my other computer,also no one else can connect. I am using servercontroll as recommended (I beleive this changes all the relevant i.p's anyway)

We all get the message Connection activley refused blah blah blah. ive updated the ip's on the mir3.ini and mir4.ini on the client side and also everyone is using the same .exe to play.

any ideas?

again the server is running 100% fine as far as i can tell. no errors etc...

when using server control use it with your network ip, then make sure all server files with your external ip are set to read only.
