Erm, any chance of anyone having any idea which is the best free virus scan, which I could get my hands on pretty soon. Links would be great. Got people trying to hack me and a few trojans lurking around trying to get in...

Thank you

Thank you atm I've got a few scans but they just don't seem to want to work so good.

Spyware Terminator
Ad-Adware SE
Spybot S&D
Norton Anti Virus (which is the 1 finding all my trojans, mainly Trojan.Wimad)

Also looking like something wrong with my memory, when I go on my task manager my CPU usage is 100% maybe dropping to 90% at times and my PF is taking the P!ss 456MB which never happens it normally averages at about 200MB if that.

Just tried that AVG and when I opened it I got a Box saying
Extracting license_us.txt
Not enough memory

Also I've been getting a few boxes saying something about my pages :s if that means anything to you. I've got screenies if you need them.

Once again thank you

Now theres a funny question, on my limewire it says I'm using a firewall but when a friend and myself tried finding the firewall etc It could not be found, I don't know which one I'm using, nevermind only using one at a time :( *cries* now I've got Trojan horses *sobs*
Norton came with my comp.

(yes you may have noticed by now I suck at anything technical)

Nope I got my pc about 3 years ago from a catalogue "Empire". I wouldn't dare go to one of those shops.

Just incase your wondering here are my specs:

I can't get rid of norton no matter how much I've tried. Kaspersky said to get rid of that AVG and norton so I did then I tried again and it said to get rid of norton internet security which I can't find on my comp, I've looked in add and remove programs and I've also done a search for anything called 'norton' but no results are coming back. I then looked for the maker of norton which is symtec or whatever and deleted most of this files but the rest won't delete I'm not sure if this is the reason why kespersky won't install. Can any advise me on this please.

Btw I've now got nout protecting me except an internet security which I can't find :(
Thank you

Start > Run > Type "RegEdit" (doesn't matter about case)

Edit > Find > Type "Norton" or "Symantec"

You can probably delete most things that comes up, however don't just go deleting anything :P.

Ok there are a few things that you can do

Also a warning for anyone trying to use RegEdit DONT unless you know what you are doing

If you don’t use a program called Registry mechanic

_________________________________________________________________

First: Norton is a pain to get rid of as in uninstall does not work properly

You need to find a program that will get rid of all its components (also did you know that Norton uses root kits (backdoors into your computer))

But seems as you have uninstalled it already just use this program

Registry mechanic

http://files.filefront.com/Registry_Mechanic_6.0.0.7l.rar

You have to run the crack for it to an updatable program (crack included)

_________________________________________________________________
Next for a virus and firewall

It’s called Steganos (kespersky's sister)

http://files.filefront.com/steganos2006_extended.exe/;7512904

This is a Extended trial for about a year but just reinstall it after the year :D
Also comes with a few other things like anti dialler, this program is used to battle con's on the internet, you visit a site and you have 2 pay some obscene amount of money

_________________________________________________________________

Spyware

This is a free program it’s called Ad-Aware SE Professional

http://files.filefront.com/Ad-Aware_SE_Professional_O.exe/;7512528

These are the main 3 programs i use to defend my computers for Nasty's like viruses and spyware and reg editing installations.

__________________________________________________________________

There are other programs that can aid in the defence of a pc and i will post them when i can get my hands on them

here is a quick list

Unlocker, if a program locks up this will unlock it by closing it down

Your uninstaller 2006, this is the best uninstaller i have found it looks for nasty things that are left over after you uninstall a program stuff that normal add and remove does not like registry entrys and "Dump" Files and folders left by the program you are uninstalling

I hope this helps you.

And if it does not then add me to msn it’s in my profile and I can help you more on there
