Ok there are a few things that you can do
Also a warning for anyone trying to use RegEdit DONT unless you know what you are doing
If you don’t use a program called Registry mechanic

First: Norton is a pain to get rid of as in uninstall does not work properly
You need to find a program that will get rid of all its components (also did you know that Norton uses root kits (backdoors into your computer))
But seems as you have uninstalled it already just use this program
Registry mechanic
http://files.filefront.com/Registry_Mechanic_6.0.0.7l.rar
You have to run the crack for it to an updatable program (crack included)

Next for a virus and firewall
It’s called Steganos (kespersky's sister)
http://files.filefront.com/steganos2006_extended.exe/;7512904
This is a Extended trial for about a year but just reinstall it after the year
Also comes with a few other things like anti dialler, this program is used to battle con's on the internet, you visit a site and you have 2 pay some obscene amount of money

Spyware
This is a free program it’s called Ad-Aware SE Professional
http://files.filefront.com/Ad-Aware_SE_Professional_O.exe/;7512528
These are the main 3 programs i use to defend my computers for Nasty's like viruses and spyware and reg editing installations.

There are other programs that can aid in the defence of a pc and i will post them when i can get my hands on them
here is a quick list
Unlocker, if a program locks up this will unlock it by closing it down
Your uninstaller 2006, this is the best uninstaller i have found it looks for nasty things that are left over after you uninstall a program stuff that normal add and remove does not like registry entrys and "Dump" Files and folders left by the program you are uninstalling
I hope this helps you.
And if it does not then add me to msn it’s in my profile and I can help you more on there
