Ports that need blocking.

there was a post last week i cant find saying you can block port 6000 i think with zonealarm to stop hackers from your server/db does any1 no if thats rite the port 6000 1 with zonealarm.also is there anyother port that u can block from hackers ty

can you block port 9000 by going to control panel windows firewall exeptions on tab and add port 9000 but dont tick the box will that work same as zonealarm. ty

I think you mean port 6000

Any good server and Firewall will have all ports closed anyway, bar the 4 ports that are needed

Yes any Firewall will do

most times the first time you run your server windows firewall will ask if you want to allow this program access, therefore i would imagine that all ports are blocked unless you allow them.
