What is 'MIR Population'?
MIR population is a measure of how many people are 'active' at any one time across all servers. This can be seen in almost real time using the serverlist.

The data
Left axis: Population count
Bottom axis: Time period

Summary for those who can't read graphs

• MIR population somewhat stagnant during early to mid 2005, peaking at 260ish in August 2005.
• Population suffered a huge slide in late 2005 averaging 125 players for the next 4 months.
• Picked up in early 2006 which lasted until June, which saw a return to 120 average.
• Late 2006 saw an upsurge to 220ish players, which has been sustained so far, except for a rather rigorous blip in March 2007.
• Late March 2007 boasts the biggest Mir population in history. Largely attributed to the addition of dominant Mir3 server zentaur.

Methodology and weaknesses:

• Data is based on 8PM readings of every server per day since Aug04.
• 2004/05 data was subject to weaker and less prevalent server monitor
• Super servers can have affect readings dramatically

i was lookin for that lol, i wanted to see how many peeps actually played mir, on mirtracks yesterday or daybe4 i saw 450 peeps online , i think its getting better due to DM2, and more, better mir3 severs

I was going to say that the increase is due to the Mir3 servers on MirTracks imo. But hopefully we can be pulling in a few more players now we have these files.

I have an addition question... Whats the population just for Mir 2 please?

well kill, you gotta subtract the amount on the mir3 severs :P, but on average i think its like
Zentuar = average 50
sting = average 50
vanquish = average 20 :P
justy average from times i been on ( sting and vanq normally between 2nd-4th

Well I've seen over 80 people on Zentuar so ha!
That exact amount of mir 2 players would be nice to see

Nice work its a good graph, but if there was one for 'Mir Mentality'
all we would see is a steady decrease from 2004-2007. So its not
all good news.

I think this was a Exellant idea doing a population check on mir it reallly shows how many people play

ours tbh,, mirtracks says days online 244, sc5 siggystat says 261,
not long till its a year old, then we can close it down

Thats because they [stupidly on my part] are different measurements (age versus uptime)

Your server was detected on the 15th of July 2006.
It has been 261 days since that date (Age - SC5 Siggy).
However, ur server has only been detected on 244 of those days. (Days online - MIRTracks).

You'd have to tell me which servers you'd want to be considered as Mir2 - as I don't log it.

Yes. Its private server only. The public servers don't release the number of players.

Well all are not so good! Many players are booring quicly to play MIR , and they move to 1 to other servers to see something new idees but all are the same, and in a short time all are playing Mu,Knight or other Online games. Why...the truth ....coz this type of the game have graphycs 2D and the other have 3D graph,& are limited in a lot of thinks,....sorry coz i say this but this is a real truth, and the same guys are a players but they move to 1 server to other. New players is a big problems on lot of servers.

i must admit i dont play mir anymore.. in along time i ant. but dont count its chickens just yet, u may say its limits are nearly reached but i started a project along time ago that noones finished it seems n that was dual wield weapons.. yes it is possible just takes along time to sort.
