I have a taste for rock/metal (mild metal though, not too hard core)

But I have no idea who anyone is...

I like Linkin Park, always have done.
Limp Bizkit i like too.
Papa Roach seem to have a few songs I don't mind.
I obviously like Arctic Monkeys as they're from Sheffield :P

So yeah, reccomend me some stuff to download (legally *cough*)

Edit: Also you may like Red Hot Chilli Peppers

I don't know any albums but i bet you can find some of them on wiki and see the track list and give it a try. =)

i ain't considering linkin park / limp bizikt as a metal/rock band more likely pop/rap ^^
