Today I had went to shopping, in that store the DVD is on sale. DVD-R & DVD+R is very cheap, but I don't know howcome the DVD-R are so fast to selling it out. People are only leave the DVD+R in the store. This why I am answer what is the different between DVD-R & DVD+R.

dvd-r is more compatible with some older players.
dvd+r should be better if you are storing data.

that's the rumor from year(s) ago. not sure about these days.

hmm i thought it was to do with the drive say if its a (+) drive u then use +DVD rw disks but if its (-) u use - dvd rw disks (i got told this from com tech)

Just get a DVD±RW (dual layer) Multi Drive it burns on both type of disks
all comp shops will sell them and there is very little price difference

yes, but whats the actual difference. Is it still what kaori said ?

There must be benifits to one over the other? i have multi drives and just use what ever i get my hands on cheapest (- atm)

and the other thing you will notice with +...
discs come out with higher speed on + than -...
+ only Dual layer disc came out first?

I could be wrong.. because I still use 8x -R discs :P

Dual Layer is certainly much handier for backing things up, and as I dont use a TV DVD Player anyways (laptop + svideo out > *) i think i'll stick to whatever is on the shelf :D
