Whats min hosting speed?

Im intresting in hosting my own server but just wonderd if a 1mb connection was enough or weither it will have to w8 till i go 4mb?
how many ppl can i get on a 1mb?
other stats are fine, 2gb ram and 3.6Ghz

It amazes me to be honest that people have a ADSL/CM with 8mbit/256 and think for some mad reason they can host more - online games speak Both Ways - so they will hit a limit of the server sending commands out to the clients.

Best idea is get one person to log on the server (remote) and find out how much bandwidth one person is using (both up and down) and see how many you can multiply that into for the max people you can host.

my pc stats are 1meg line xp2.4 pro just over 1gig ram and i host with no probs what so ever and about 28 or so ppl playin so your well in gloop

amd or intel? if it's intel.. you can use hyperthreading and have 2 servers going same time.. haha...

1M 2M 4M 1000M doesn't matter.. it depends on upload speed. I think most people have 256kbps. that's about 30k/s and you can say 30 people avg...

IF ALL 30 people gather together for a hunt, you will need more... you get the idea... same if 1 person hunting tons of mobs on 1 screen.
