Why is this section dead

im wondering as to why Woool never took off.
there is only 1 server.. which you cant get on.

someone please enlighten me, from what iv seen / read it looks like it has alot promise.

mhh its quiet simple the server that is online is buggy (nothing vs howie) it comes from the proggers some spells dont work and so on. the prob is that there is no rly working tools for it. ppl lost interest after they found the bugs on the old versions. the producer fixed bugs after bugs but the right ppl had lost the interest and so no new tools for higher versions get programmed.

at present our team work on a higher woool server (1.9609) and also sanity works on woool files. He have trouble with hoster, and we had trouble that we first worked with a version that wasnt registrated. So we (Reddragon staff) Must start again with the new files cause another group build it as our first version. And so nothing from our first work was rly compatible. At present we work with 2 ppls on translation and a dev team works on progs for it (example sgl_editor for higher versions as 1.960, Webinterface, Launcher)

So look forward Sanity know much and ill be sure he make what he can to go forward, and we do it also (i can swearl nothing but at present from our side 6 ppl work on that files)

at present its only an information i will not make any advertisment till we have first successfull results. we will see what happend what will work what not but its NOT DEAD we are rly interested and work hard on it

(To say it in short words: Till now only tools for old buggy version;No Tools for higher versions as 1.960)

BTW if i see it right than WooolAdmin is also working on new files he have also trouble with host as i know but from him i have no directly informations

So that make maybe clear why that section here is Dead
1)only one Server (Bugy) online
2)PPl that work on only help each other (Sanity inform us we inform woooladmin as example)
3)not enough ppl interessted in working with that files rly
4)Thats why no Moderator is needed here (it looks like cause i see noone as moderator here)
5)Ill be sure ppl think its a dying game LOM is easier some ppl had worked on it and the rest is happy to get most on a silver plate (i was also happy as i start with gameservers)

the files we had first work for one alone the prob is u cant put them online for much ppl after 50 ppl login a virus come up and kill all. thats why we must gave them up. also at present THERE ARE NO TOOLS. And if we release what we will see if we have it. i cant say we give all out if we have nothing that work lol

and yes its SGL and SGL_editor i had searched over 1 week for a higher working sgl editor as 1.955 (1.8-1.955) and i have 5 diffrent that was ever the same.

the features that i told u come in 1.960 and higher versions. Yesterday i testet 1.9609 with client 1.955 that work but some windows are missing for example pet window to give him armor and so on.

the chinese play with server version 1.9650 i have them also but no regkey for them so not usable

well its not been long since an old editor got released no'one dose not like any intrest in WooL because people who can fix the bug's wont because they prefer Mir2 hense why Mir3 dosnt get any new feature's

i have not the backround knowledge as a developer but for me it looks like that woool and mir2 very similar the prob is that for mir2 are tools available for woool not.

mir2 and woool offers much more possibilities as lom3 ill think thats why lom3 get no new features.

SGL works up to 1960, Chinese don't need such a tool so they cba creating a new one to work with the newer versions.

Finding a set of files which are registered above 1950 is impossible, you will NEVER find a set of files higher then that for free, The highest set of files i had was 19.55 registered by Wemades team but now they have stoped working on woool. Only 1 IP address can use registered files, will not allow any other pc to run them with out any problems, this is why is very hard to get a set of files for woool.

But 1.960+ woool would wipe the floor with Mir, just needs someone whos willing to spend money and time working on it, which i can't see happening as 2D Games are dieing everyday.

the main problems why the game never took off.

Dsm monopolized the sql editor, no one could edit the ui to English (yes I know theres one widely spread now but interest left after 2 years of having none).
Working server files a few and far between. Unless you have someone who can speak/read good Chinese/english.
The game is very small, tho I admit I've only played on the dsm server.
Then you have Sanity, while he means well in all honesty hes full of hot air. I've lost track of how many threads hes made on opening a server/releasing server files, which have never happened. (no this isn't a flame).

By the time all the above issues get resolved, no one will even remember the game let alone want to work on it.

1 thing isnt correct. that dsm have the only sgl_editor and dont give it out.

They had an english one and dont gave it out but as i said i have 5 diffrent (means from diffrent places) and its 5 times the same editor. if someone had rly interrest like dsm(Howie) he could find it by searching self and that also without any chinese knowledge. iam german and i cant speak or read or write chinese and i also found them.

its again what i said the ppl wanna have all on a silver plate in lom section are enough ppl that gave it to all other like demonic it did with 3.38 files or milo with 3.55 files or TDfiles 2.4 or gimpasaurus 1.9 files and so on. the ppl took them all is clear all work and say wuah i have done a server. and dont say its not truth i was also like that! But now with woool for me its a new world to find out how what work what is possible and so on
and yes most is not on a silver plate so this sections is dead cause much ppl here are lazy (I dont mean the staff or few members like geo inflicted mental ............. but how much members have lomcn more as 20 or ?

so if u talk about why section is death dont give the full error to one or 2 ppl as reason. U ARE ALSO A REASON u dont get it here so u dont work on it STFO

WoOOL has coursed my computers to re format 5 times, do you blame me for not continuing, i lacked a team willing to work on the game, far to much work for 1 person alone, takes months and months off work and to keep all the team happy with the game is tricky when there never been a 1.9 server so they have doubts if the game will succeed and there not just wasting there time with it.

I got most of the features working in woool which even the Chinese struggle to do.
Example:

Hero system, had to re create the whole thing, Lvling,skills,stat gains,summoning, then i put in the new working Hero Spells, fully working execpt the Warrior spell which i never finished. I spent a **** lot of time on woool, when i could of been doing better things but i turned down to complete the files, then a problem with the whole Engine currupting my files then not been able to start up windows, i had no choice but to format and lose everything.

If your not willing to pay for woool then it's never going to happen, unless you want to run a really old version 1.92+ then you can find that anywhere, but no one wants to do that because you will never find the client for it, so your stuck with the latests version 1.960+, for working files you need to pay for them, only you will be able to use them, no one eles, so you cannot release them, reason i had to change a lot of times because of this, as i was always going to release the files.

But you can easyily sit there and judge people on failing on this game like me but don't give anyone **** unless you have tryed yourself. Oh and you will never find a Virus free launcher, Howie (Mick) is stuck with this problem also.

I played Mir for a few years then Woool for years, Woool is far more advanced then MIR, just needs a good team to see it all to believe whats in woool, but you look at dsm and think it isnt that special, but remember that is the first version of woool, look at 1.960v now and Shanda are still going at it, should be another update in a couple of months. If i had to start woool again it would have to be from the source and i would suggest anyone doing woool to do the same.

ehm i dunno what sanity mean with money yet if he mean the full sever (over 700-900 Yuan =+-100 Euros i dunno pound now as i belive it can be more it was a prize i have seen somewhere but dont remember if really all was included gates and so on) or server for hosting etc.

this might sound stupid but, if someone like say sanity would be up for buying a set of files ( up to date ones ) for say £100 , and would work on th server and get it online for us, then id deffinatly donate i dunno £10 or so towards the cost of the files, but would other people donate also?

Ive been hopeing for a good up to date wool server tocome out for over 2 years now, and if ihad the time or know how id even attempt making one my self, but trust me i wouldnt get far

anyone have any thoughts on this?

I don't see the point paying for some files if only you will be able to use them, if i could release them then i would.

If i can recover the H.X engine then i think people will work on woool, i would help out now and again, i should of release the engine but i made a deal with wemades group if i released it then they would not support me anymore with updates etc.. Trying to get hold of it tho, then it dose not matter what files you use with it. Hoping Mick still has it along with the Key gen... just have to wait and see.

p.s I may have recovered some files i used with that engine, there like 65% translated.
