is this new WTL file format causing my client to be extremly buggy?

when i log in i can only see the username and pass bit, and when i get ingame its all black

anyone else getting this?

yes i uninstalled the old client, yes i installed the new client - several times now i might add.

It sounds like your system can't read the new wtl format..

What's your system spec's? Direct X version, OS and graphics card mainly

1)install the old client

2) patch it

3) start it in windowed mode

4) alt + enter for fullscreen (if you want)

and it works

we done this unfo, and still black screen bollox

we both have poor pc's , im hoping it isnt because of our low specs not being able to read the WTL format

Get a better PC then.

Erm...going by my brothers PC specs...

256MB RAM
GeForce 6 Series GFX (Maybe lower)
Windows XP

His seems to work fine using the old install file with the patches ontop.


Could be maybe the fact you guys are running Vista or something lower than XP SP3?

I've got the old install but with patchs on top and not a problem here.

Tried this initially, we had the old client, ran autopatch - downloaded the 600 mb patch which converted everything to wtl im assuming.

This gave us black login.

We thought this was because we used old client, so we uninstalled, redownloaded the 1st download link (600 mb download), installed, patched 600mb, black login.

we then downloaded the actual downloader program thing, which downloaded 1.2gigs installer. installed, ran mir - no autopatch (already wtl files from 1.2gig install), still black login
