Can you host mir off a virtual server?

i think 99% of the hosting houses give virtual servers and not actually real computers to host over and you can still host anyway over them.. never tried but i think it should work without problems

I setup my own Virtual Servers using VMWare and could run a server with no problems.

how comes so many people choose to use dedis then if virtuals are cheaper and do the same then ? :S

i guess because the virtuals yet have lower performance than a pure dedi.. not sure though
