CERN are building the worlds largest particle physics accelerator
the internet was inventedn in CERN
Cern is located in swizerland
www.cern.ch

edit: they also do skydiving
edit2: and created (yes, created) anti matter by simulating the bing bang on a minute scale then using strong magnetic fields to repel the anti matter and matter, depositing the anti matter into a little vacuum container which keeps the anti matter afloat as there is no surface tension

the antimatter isn't as powerful as they make it out to be, according to the book "angels and demons" a gram can be used to power new york city for a day, wrong, a gram is sufficient enough to power a standard 100watt lightbulb for a few minutes

Surely that's dependant on the Element & Anti-Element used, though?

Like the difference between mixing Sodium and water, and Cæsium and water....

but when anti-matter reacts with matter all it does is produce mass energy in the form of light

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antimatter

Seems to refer a lot to neutrino emission when AntiMatter/Matter annihilates.

Also, the quote from CERN looks as if it was taken out of context.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antimatter_weapon

3rd Paragraph shows the full quote. However, CERN does not produce Anti-Matter in anything close to gram sizes. It produces them in nanograms, around 10 nanograms per year, on the entire planet. (See first link for reference).

Also note who wrote Angels and Demons, the infamous Dan Brown. Author of the wonderful self-proclaimed fiction that is the Da Vinci Code.
