Since replacing my heatsink, I have noticed the powed LED is flashing bright every few seconds. Also, the "+12V" Voltage is down to 7.24V. Am I pushing the PSU to its limits?

The fan is the one ontop of the heatsink, give or take a few mm its an 8cm case fan made by intel. Even the bios reports the voltage is down to 7 volts.

The fan connector changed from a 3 pin to a 4 pin, so I imagin it draws more power. Coupled with the motherboard being partialy powered off the 12 volt rail, I think that I'm pushing the PSU too hard.

I think the machine is having a torture test as it is. Its running 2 mir servers off it eating all the cpu power and almost all the ram. Cpu temps are up to 52 degrees in a 40+ room temp. As for the mainboard, it is designed to take the 4 pin and 3 pin connectors. there is a jumper to set what type of fan you are using.

I cant think of a perfect way of wording this. But with all moddern main boards, they take the 20/24 pin power connector and an extra 4 pin square block aswell. On Xeon machines, that 4 pin block is actualy an 8 pin. Since only completly OTT power supplies actualy have the 8 pin block, i bought a converter kit that runs off the 12V rail.

It converts a 4 pin molex connector into the 8 pin connector the board requires
