---------- Manage Database (ODBC) ----------
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

you didn't have manager in your odbc? or it's not configured properly.

see thats the thing, checked it, done the connection test after setting it up and it comes back ok, then go to setup checker and it comes up with that error. no idea what is going on but its annoying. Tried setting it up differently and still same prob. will try again in a bit.

Any idea whats going on with the loader?

also, any1 know if this is supposed to show what it does, so many options dunno what is right :S

yes of course i am typing manage lol why wouldnt i be? any idea what the java.net connection exception thing is about?

because you have been pasting this, so I assume you didn't put "manage" properly
---------- Manage Database (ODBC) ----------
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

and about your "Connection refused: connect"
your sql server is down or not accepting TCP connection or your config is wrong again.

You didn't follow my instruction!
I said -na not -n not -a

Anyway...
I don't see 1433, so that means your SQL Server is not started OR your SQL Server is not setup to listen to 1433.

Check Network configuration:
right click the server in enterprise manager
properties
network configuration.

don't think that's the event I am hoping for...
date/time is old right?

restart computer
wait until sql server starts.

then run the netstat -na to see if 1433 is there.
