Fraps recording problem

I've got some problems with Fraps. I record the game, then convert it with VirtualDub in order to decrease it's size... Everything is alright. Then I upload the video on youtube and the following happens:
When you watch it normally (small screen) there is that black space on sides, which I can't figure how to get rid of.

Someone suggested to change the recording resolution but Fraps only has Full Size (which I used) and Half Size (Which looses quality).

Does anyone know how to get rid of that black space on the sides? Thanks a lot.

i've only ever edited fraps videos in sony vegas, and in that you right click on each clip and untick "force aspect ratio" this solves the side bar issues.

try Techsmith Camtasia , has any number of ways of recording screen dimensions , editting and outputing

You're re-sizing it to 4:3 in VirtualDub, it's not a fraps Issue as it records your resolution.

Thanks for the replies... I've fixed it a couple days ago using AVS Video Converter... Converted it in 16:9. It looked better on youtube in 16:9 than 4:3.
