help required

hey guys, apologies if this problem has been posted several times before. But im in need of a little assistance.

I wish to play OLDSKOOL server but having trouble patching the client or server for some reason.

I downloaded the client and go to run the auto patcher but it says that i am missing the .net framework, so i downloaded the the two versions, however whilst attempting to install/run it i get an error saying fatal error could not install it.
the error log is as displayed below:

Try uninstalling everything related to .net, reboot and try again.

After months of trying still no luck haha. I have now decided to just do a complete reboot of my laptop and download another version of windows.
Question is could anyone recommend me which windows is Ideal for playing Mir on? Just so that I am up to speed with others and not two stepping constantly.
Also since I don’t have the disk with key gen etc to install windows can anyone help me out in regards to how to do a windows install using a external hard drive? (Probably a very nooby question lol but I honestly don’t know how to do it and don’t want to risk reformatting my laptop and being unable to install a fresh and working version of windows)

Windows 10 is the way to go. You can download the ISO directly from Microsoft. I think they have a tool to make it easier for you that directly sets up a USB with the OS so you can install it from there.
