I've done the following so far...

1. Installed the following files:
CruelDragon3g.rar
CruelDragon3G_Holley3.38FreeUpdate.rar (i put these into MUD3)

2. Added the following databases to SQL:
account
conlog
game1
herocommon1
manage

3. Restored following dat files into the above databases:
Account.dat
Conlog.dat
Game3g.dat
Hero3G.dat
Manage.dat

4. Setup the following odbc dns':
account
conlog
game1
herocommon1
manage

5. Changed the IPs on the following database tables:
TBL_PUBIPS
TBL_SELECTGATEIPS

6. Changed all of these ini files:
LoginSvr
DBSvr including the !serverinfo.txt
Mirlogin.ini
I used an old JOB app (console.exe) to edit my !setup.txt file
Mirgate.ini for the Gamegate
Mirgate.ini for the select character gate

At this point I got all the gates up an everything looks great, but when I run the server I get this error message. See screenie. :(
Also, the login server reports a brief connection, then it disconnects again straight away!

Any ideas, what's wrong???

I know I'm probably missing something silly :dunce: , that's why I put so much detail above. Cheers in advance for any help! :D

I have, yes.

I've also got a bit further now. I had missed out restoring the CruelDragon3BaseData.dat file to a database called CruelDragon3BaseData.
That's a new step since I setup a JOB server ages ago.

The Holley Mir3Server is now launched and the gameserver is now connected to the db server. :D

But getting this off the server now, what have I missed now :dunce:

looks like your monster.db is messed up, use a clean one from job and just rename the table.

Are JOB Databases, and you are using CreulDragon 3G.

You need to make Databases and ODBCs for all the dat files in the Database folder.

start this bit again mate, add these SIX databases

Account
Conlog
CruelDragon3GBaseData (items/monsters/magic)
Game3G
Hero3G
Manage

Thanks, I'll redo it now. I did wonder about those DAT names when I was restoring them tbh. :dunce:

I assume I'll need to change the names on my odbc connections and across all the ini files?

I've created the CruelDragon3GbaseData database, restored the dat to it and added an odbc record for CruelDragon3GbaseData.

Still just won't load my monster db !
Do any of the Ini files need pointing to that odbc?

Am I right in assuming that the RegServer app creates a .ini file for your server exe?

What would happen if I use the wrong version of RegServer for the Server exe?
