A very decent computer for gaming. Looking at spending $1000, all i was gonna plan on doing is buying all the parts of places like ebay then go to the PC shop, choose a case and ask them to build it.

Reckon this is a decent idea, or should i just go to the shop myself and choose the case and get brand new parts..

Was lookin at getting sommet like the following, not **** hot at knowing comp specs but let me know if anythings a bad idea...

These are my specs on this PC, this is as it says on the System via control panel.

Intel(R)Pentium(R) 4 cpu 2.80ghz, 2.79ghz processor.
1gb of ram
ati 9600
95gb HDD
250 external

And im looking at spending $1000 on a gaming PC.

Nvidia Geforce Best one hopefully.
4+GB of RAM
Intel Core 3.5Ghz - 4Ghz processor aint got a clue if thats right.
250 GB HDD + 250GB external.
DVD RW+

And yer anything else? lol.

First of all, dont use ebay for parts. Use well known places such as ebuyer etc.

Do you not know how to build them your self? would be best way if you did.

for $1000 you could build a pretty decent spec PC. Will you be running Vista? As XP only allowed 3.5gig RAM.

Get a bigger HDD than 250gig, get them for next to nothing these days that wont dent your £1000 budget, and you will be surprised how fast you fill them

Get a decent GCard, as thats one of the main things for a gaming machine, and this is where a chunk of your budget will go.

Well ive always been told having 4gb in XP is pointless... by people on here, and people elsewhere?

depends on your motherboard.

4G on some boards will give you 3.1G, some boards will give you 3.5G.

or just go for a 64bit OS and you can use all 4G or 6 or 8
