mini map help

Can someone explain to me the process for making\adding mini maps?
I added a map recently and wanted to make mini map. Opened the map in the editor, saved as bmp.(size is always like 1200 x 800 pixels) can't seem to figure how to make them smaller if need be.
Anyways, inserted the mini map using hh8, but ingame it looks like your looking at map through a magnifier, nothing but dots all mashed together.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Also is the process the same for making town maps? can you use the same file for mini and town maps?

- Save map as BMP
- Open in paint
- Image > Stretch/Skew...
- Stretch Horizontal 25%, Stretch Vertical 25%
- Save
- Open mmap.wil import your map onto the end
- Open yor database and add the correct number (Your map num - 1) to the map record

I Aint by 25 , 25.

im sure its by 50/50 ?? as thats how ive been doing my mini maps

its 25x25 mate

50x50 is for big map on td's 2.3 files not minimaps

25% reduced doesnt work on all maps.
Nor does 50% work on bigmaps :P

Was working with the yesterday and took many tries to get it right.
