More Help Needed Please

right have dell laptop, for sum reason all items in windows folder been deleted but boots up after that nothing, tried to reinstall windows from booting from cd, wont pick up the cd drive, ordered a new 1 installed it, still nothing, tried a 3rd cd drive and nothing, would thisd be mother board problems?

Looked at someones Dell computer tower doing the same thing about 2 weeks ago and basically I concluded the motherboard had received some kind of shock because it would not register a new cd drive, infact even when the cd drive was disconnected it still thought the broken one was connected and installed the drivers for it.....she's buying a new pc rather than mess about (she can afford it)

She did take it to a engineer who also concluded the same thing, motherboard problem.

cheers alot, so ill scrap the lappy and get new less hassle, tbh what ya expect it is a dell

Personally I think hers had a shock, they'd been messing about trying to get the cd drive out before talking to me lol
