Most Colleges block the MSN port, would have to use a port bouncer. :).

/Haz

MSN goes through loads diff ports, port 80 is 1 of thm so colleges cnt block it tht way cuz they wud block the webernet

Actually msn goes primerialy through one port and is easly blocked, as you cant change the port it uses.

And as for port 80 - 80/TCP HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) - used for transferring web pages

But yes you can create a VB application that runs msn on a network that has ports blocked - but why would you want to, just look on google and find the software you need.

To make a better understanding of what ports are primarily used for what

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_TCP_and_UDP_port_numbers

And dont forget as with all programing get one of the ports wrong and you could skrew a host of programs.

Yes.
Haz is just a guy who hangs around the college with a bottle of gin and a camera, who likes the kids to call him 'uncle mick' :P
