there group 13 so that price dosnt suprise me, is that fully comp?

nah fully comp was 2097 so i went 3rd fire and theft for 1 year, i know 1700 seems a lot to some but dont forget im 20 and the first insurance bracket is 21 so next year it will drop by about 1/3, and its a 2.0ltr straight 6 VVt petrol engine in group 13 so thats a good price when you look at a mg zr, would have been nearly 3grand to insure (1.4 LOL!) it works out around the same price as the golf gti i was looking at would have been to insure fully comp anyway.

i know most would have the golf but even though the lex's a little big i prefer oldman style cars because whats the point in having a car that will do 200mph if u can only realistically drive it at 60-80mph, id rather drive 60-80mph in total comfort (black leather n suede interior and lumbar support) whilst knowing that my car can do 130ish and not have anything to proove to any1, thats sensible right?

Jesus christ... Where are you getting your insurance quotes from? lol

My ZR was £1400 fully comp when I was 19 (1 NCB)... Bit lower than the £3000 quote you had!

My Golf GT FSI was just over £600 fully comp at 22 (4 NCB) - 2.0l 148bhp 0-60 8.9s - WHich I found was a very good price.

Insurance is up for renewal soon, so hoping it will drop a little lower!

I was thinking about a Lexus, but I prefer my smaller cars. I desperatley want a Scirocco next... Just have to see if I can afford one in 2 years time lol.

Scirocco's are nice but already common as muck! What insurance company are you with?

Which comparers do you use?

I try to avoid them, or do the big ones first, as once you use one of them, you won't get a better price by going direct... Something to do with them saving your details, therefore just giving you the same quote?

But when I do use them, I only use MoneySuperMarket (Direct Line aint on any though)

yeh but hast MG gone bust since you had urs? i mean the insurance group has changed recently im sure of it, and i use the cheaper 1s for quotes like privaledge, egg, admiral and had quinn for my 106, dont really use the comparison websites much because the majority wont insure me under 21 from what iv tried. Oh also i did have an accident in my 106 which wasnt my fault but iv declared so that will effect it and i have 0 ncb so your quotes will be cheaper ;) still im happy spent most of my first day driving around getting used to it and i have no regrets
